L&T bags 750 Crore contract from NHAI

Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) has bagged a Rs 750 crore order from the National Highways Authority of India for six laning of the NH-8 in Gujarat.

The Build-Operate-Transfer project entails widening of the existing four-lane highway to six lanes, from Vadodara to Bharuch, with amenities and support infrastructure.

ORR Gates may take their toll on people

HYDERABAD: Every time you travel on the proposed Outer Ring Road (ORR), you may have to shell out a fee for using the roadway. Toll gates will be in place on nearly 45 per cent of the 162 km ORR stretch.

Moreover, the ORR might be stretched to three phases instead of two decided earlier. The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (Huda) is planning to split the existing phase-II works into two parts and the final portion of the road would be completed on the basis of build-operate-transfer (BoT) model, sources said.

L&T wins Rs750-crore BOT contract

Larsen & Toubro Ltd has received an Rs750 crore order for the six-laning of NH-8 from Vadodara to Bharuch in Gujarat. The National Highways Authority of India awarded the contract on ‘build-operate-transfer’ (BOT) basis through international competitive bidding.

The 83.3km stretch of NH-8 between Vadodara and Baruch, forms part of the Golden Quadrilateral and is an important link in the high-density corridor connecting Mumbai and Delhi. This stretch is adjacent to the second Narmada bridge, which is already under operation on BOT basis by L&T. The project involves widening of the existing four-lane highway to six lanes, with amenities and support infrastructure. The 15-year concession period includes a construction period of 30 months.

PM to lay foundation for six-laning of Panipat highway project

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will today lay the foundation stone for six-laning of 10 km stretch of the National Highway one (NH-1) running through Panipat in Haryana.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda along with other ministers will be present on the occasion. Dr Singh will also address a public meeting on the occasion. Security men have been posted on the spot.

6-lane stretch for Surat-Vadodara

Those driving on the stretch of National Highway no 8 between Surat and Vadodara are in for some good news, though not in the near future.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to convert it to a six-lane road from the existing four-lane road in view of the increasing traffic on this stretch, which makes driving on it a pain in the neck.

Rs 550-crore road project for L&T

Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), bagged its first annuity-based road project — valued at Rs 550 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The project involves four-laning of the 76-km Palanpur and Swaroopgunj stretch located on the East-West Corridor on NH-14, linking Gujarat and Rajasthan. Secured against international competitive bidding, the order will be executed by L&T’s Engineering Construction & Contracts (ECC) Division in 30 months.

NHAI signs Rs 490-cr pacts with Reliance Energy-promoted SPVs

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Monday signed two concession agreements with Reliance Energy Ltd-promoted special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to four-lane two national highway sections on NH-7 in Tamil Nadu on Build-Operate-Transfer basis.

Both the projects fall on the North-South Corridor under National Highways Development Project – Phase II.

The agreements were signed by NHAI with NK Toll Road Ltd and DS Toll Road Ltd (SPVs formed by Reliance Energy Ltd) in the presence of Mr Santosh Nautiyal, Chairman, NHAI and Mr JP Chalasani , Director-Business Development, Reliance Energy, said a release. Under the first agreement, the four-laning of the 33.5-km long, high-traffic density corridor of Namakkal-Karur Section of NH – 7 on BOT basis is expected to be completed in 30 months at a cost of Rs 205.6 crore.

Work on elevated expressway to start next month, The project will be completed in 30 months

The stage is set for work on the nine km Bangalore-Electronic City Elevated Toll Expressway Project to start next month. The Rs. 765-crore project, to be implemented by the Consortium of Soma Enterprises Limited, Nagarjuna Construction Company and Maytas Infra Private Limited, will be completed in 30 months.

The consortium members on Friday announced that they were awarded the contract for the construction of the project on the Bangalore-Hosur section of Hosur Road (from km 9.5 to km 18.5) on a Build Operate Transfer (BOT) basis by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The Public Private Partnership project was awarded on a negative grant of Rs. 16 crores, they said.

Apart from Road Projects even Check Post Management has gone the BOT way with state governments such as the NEW DELHI already having implemented and KERELA and RAJASTHAN in the planning stage to go for BOT projects for CHECK POST MANAGEMENT.

With this magazine we hope to bring together companies and professionals in BOT road projects to share news ,views ,problems and solutions through a platform which will bring together best of the industry through a forum for sharing thier knowledge .
