Illegal toll collection at IRB toll naka at Moshi, Pune

An incident showcasing another Toll corruption was seen at IRB toll naka where a localite was forced to pay toll tax.As per NHAI rules the local people near a toll plaza are exempted from the tax,but Mr preetam was forcibly made to pay the tax.He has already lodged a complain.Following is an excerpt from his lodged complain:

“Hi,

Today, I was forcefully made to pay toll tax at Moshi in Pune at an IRB toll tax naka. This even after I showed that my vehichle RC (MH 14 EC 2891- Dehu Road). I also informed them that I am a local and the visit was for my flat at Chimbali (Mantra Magic). Also, that I use to cross this toll regularly and never ever have I been asked for toll payment, once they see my RC.
Inspite of this the toll staffs barricaded, obstructed my vehicle and forced me to pay the tax.
I was manage to procure the identity of one of the employee named ’Prashant’, employee id- 12295.

In this regard, I would like to request you for below-
1) Conduct an immediate inquiry within a couple of days to ascertain the facts
2) Penalize the involved employees, also the employee that I have mentioned
3) Ensure that at all toll plaza it is mentioned that local people are not required to pay toll and mention the applicable local area for each toll, or, mention the travels for which one has to pay toll
4) Contact me on my given mail id keep me updated

I have put my experience on twitter, keeping in loop the CMO, Maharashtra.

If I do not get response on this by monday, I would place my application to NHAI and CMO, Maharashtra and Ministry of Highways, GOI for cognizance and finally plan to take it to consumer court for legal remedy.

Today I was also forced to pay toll, though my car is regitered with MH14 (Pimpri-Chinchwad area). I have traveled many times through route but nobody asked for toll earlier.

i want to know if car registered under MH14 is required to pay Toll . Today i was forced to pay the toll they humiliated me and asked me if i am educated or not and why i am not paying the toll . i am travelling on the same route since 1 year and never had this issue .
I want clarity as to who is applicable to pay . this illegal collection of money towards toll is not acceptable .

I also suffered from this today. This is not fair. In past few years we were not paying a single rupee here. But don’t know how today they forced us to pay.

Yes, I am leaving behind that Moshi Toll ,when it passed without any information by fast tract it cut directly ,after enquiry they reply that there is no local pass ,what can I do .where to complain ,

I also suffering from toll charges ,this is really bad experience at Moshi Toll ,I as just behind of Moshi Toll and doing job updown from Moshi to Chakan ,From last six month each and every trip ,toll charges was debited from account even if my passing is MH 14.
Many times i told them but no one is ready to look into problm.
This should be stopped ,all we are stuffing from this stupid toll charges even if we are staying locally.

I faced same problem today (06/07/21)
I was forced to pay the toll, though my car registered with MH14 and stay in kasarwadi pune 34.

I have traveled last 5 years , but nobody asked for toll.
Whether vehicle registered with MH14- FM 2821 are applicable for free toll at Moshi toll. I think they are not found their duty properly. So many people have already complained here but still their is no change.

Previsiouly I was in Aurangabad and I have a car MH20 FP6057, but since 1 month, I am relocated at Moshi pune location. Every day I travel Moshi to Chakan and Chakan to Moshi, and Daily I paid Toll amount in Moshi toll Naka. Please suggest me, how to avoid Toll tax, if I am residing in Pune location.

I also suffered same. Focefully they asked for toll tax. and i was in hurry thats why i have to pay to avoid any delay.
